Seasonal Dishes, Cooked From Scratch; Brunch & Lunch Now Served
(Maywood, NJ: September 19, 2012) Session Bistro, the 45-seat New American restaurant emphasizing seasonal preparations from scratch, is now offering a three course Sunday brunch in addition to lunch and dinner service. Brunch will feature traditional fare along with classic French style omelettes, pancakes, French toast and playful twists on standards. Nesting egg, a concassed tomato halved and stuffed with sun dried tomato, spinach, mushroom and shallot, topped with an egg and baked with mozzarella cheese, delivers layers of savory flavors and textures. Crispy, tender chicken and waffles are served with jalapeno maple syrup. The chicken is infused with flavors of bacon, sage and cajun seasoning, breaded with whipped egg white and a double coating of seasoned flour and deep fried. Review Redux: Session Bistro, Maywood, NJ
A lot has changed since the last time we visited Session Bistro. They have completely renovated their space (which was the catalyst to celebrating a Grand Re-Opening) and their menu has switched seasons to a summer menu (not to mention that was only our 9th post… we are approaching our 100th shortly). More importantly, the strengths of the restaurant have the stayed the same… the chef and the unique/creative nature of the food.
The space: We mentioned the coziness of the space previously, but the removal of the sushi bar opens up the room tremendously allowing for a less “crowded” experience. The simple colors, the accent wall in dark red and the clocks (you have to see it to understand) have transformed…
